Wouldn’t growing your business be simpler?  Sure it would and that’s exactly what this post is all about – simplifying the puzzle of small business growth!

You see, small business growth is actually a very well defined process.  So, there are finite pieces to the puzzle.  If you can learn to see the total growth picture, you can apply it to the puzzle pieces that are your business.  Before you know it the puzzle is put together!

Picturing the Growth Cycle

Churchill and Lewis defined the process in their Harvard Business Review publication in May 1983 titled The Five Stages of Small Business Growth.  In it they detailed the growth stage and the elements that impact the small business growth.

My previous post, “At What Stage is Your Small Business Growth?” provides an overview of Churchill and Lewis’ findings.  In it you get the “what” and “when” to grow your business.  Some people learn better visually, so you can also watch the video “Small Business Growth Simplified” to get the same information.

Putting Your Puzzle Together

Now, what?  EXECUTE !!!  That is, put the knowledge you have into action.

This requires a little deeper understanding of the concepts and principles at each growth stage.  This has been the purpose of most all my blogs over the past 2 years.  They just needed to be organized in a way that led you, the reader, through the process.
