Next week is Global Entrepreneurship Week!

Entrepreneurship

It’s hard to believe a year’s already gone by.  However, how have your aspiration to become an entrepreneur progressed.

If you follow any of my social media or blog posts you probably already know that my definition of entrepreneurship is a little more stringent than Webster’s Dictionary.  But, there is a reason for that.  You don’t start a business to become an entrepreneur.  You do it to achieve your vision for your life!

Ask anyone that’s made it.  They’ll tell you it’s hard work.  So, you need something that will help you keep working even when you don’t want to make it a reality.  Your dream does that.

Too often I see people begin learning about entrepreneurship and trying to find money to fund their idea before they ever really decide WHY they want to do it.  In these cases people wake 10 or 15 years down the road and say why the heck am I doing this?!!!  These people have not yet experienced true entrepreneurship!

It doesn’t have to be this way for you.  Just take a little time to understand why you want to start your business or run your existing business instead of doing something else that’s out there.  Find your passion and the sky is the limit.

Watch Out From Whom You Get Your Advice

Another problem that I frequently see is those thinking of becoming an entrepreneur is taking advice from someone out there that already has a businesses of their own.  While I wouldn’t discourage this, make sure that person has a successful business themselves.

Money is usually thought of as a measure of success. However, there is an even more important measure that many business owners that have been in business many years have still not mastered.  This one key factor can mean the difference between having a successful business in a few years or being one of those people that wake up 10 or 15 years down the road and saying “why the heck am I doing this?”  DO IT NOW!!!

Entrepreneur BookIt will take more time than I can allot to this post to describe this key factor, however it is the topic of our FREE eBook “The Missing Component to Successful Entrepreneurship.”  If you’re serious about becoming a successful entrepreneur I would suggest that you download a copy for yourself and read it!

Well, here is to another year of building a community of successful business owners with self-sustaining businesses – my definition of true entrepreneurship.  If you need help getting going I would recommend that you download our Do It Yourself Guide to Small Business Growth.  You’ll get a great education on what it really takes to grow a successful self-sustaining business that will set you free!
