Ok, so it’s the week 3 of the New Year. Did you make a New Year’s resolution for business growth? If so, where are you tracking so far, and will you make it?
Most will tell me, “it’s too early to tell?” But, is it?!!!
There are things that will tell you if you are on track to if you’ve already begun to fall behind. For example, is your business plan already completed and in place? If it’s not, you’re already behind because nobody knows what to do to hit the goal for the year!
If you’ve completed your plan then at least you’re a little farther ahead. Based on your goal for the year how many deals did you need to close each month? Are you at least 2/3 of the way there yet? If not, Where are you and can you get it done in the next 1/3 of the month? If not, then you’re already behind!
OK, if you are on track with you sales, then has your marketing been generating enough lead activity to fill you funnel? If not, then guess what…you’re already behind!
If my post is coming across negatively I apologize. This is not my intent. It’s actually just the opposite. You see there are ways to understand exactly where you are and how close you are to meeting your goal and objectives.
The problem is many small business owners don’t understand the cause and effect of the different functions of their business. This is why I created this management model tuning your revenue engine. It is a simple way to understand how things relate in your business so you can easily to monitor and manage everything.
Too frequently small business owners leave monitoring their business to their accountant. This is a mistake because most accountants use historical financial information to manage. While financials tell you what happened they cannot tell you WHY! For this you need operational metrics on which our management model is designed.
So, where are you 3 weeks into the new year? Are you behind and don’t even realize it? Contact me and I would be happy to help you figure it out.
